I have been married to my wonderful husband for over 20 years and I am a mother of two beautiful teenage daughters. I have worked in the mental health field since 1998. I have a bachelors degree in psychology from Troy University (1998), a masters degree in mental health counseling from the University of Sarasota (2001), and a doctorate degree in counselor education and supervision from Capella University (2018). Prior to arriving at UWA, I taught as a graduate instructor in the clinical mental health counseling program at Capella University for almost two years and as an adjunct in the bachelors and masters program in human services at Purdue University Global (previously known as Kaplan University) for a little over 4 years. I began teaching as an adjunct in the counseling department at UWA in the Fall of 2018 and became full-time faculty in the Fall of 2019. I am currently the field experience coordinator for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, a mentor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, and a lead teacher for several courses.
