The University of West Alabama College of Business is seeking to hire a faculty member in Business Systems, Statistics, and Data Analytics (open rank, tenure-track, full-time, 9-month) starting in January or August 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate information systems, business statistics, and data analytics/science courses on-campus and online.
  • Fulfill other duties expected of a faculty member, such as student advising, committee assignments, appropriate public and professional service, research, professional development, and college recruitment and retention activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chairperson and/or Dean.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • A PhD or DBA in Data Analytics/Science, Information Systems, and/or Statistics, or related fields from an accredited institution. Consideration will be given to ABD candidates.
  • Ability to teach business statistics courses. Must have 18 graduate hours in statistics or related fields qualified to teach undergraduate statistics courses.
  • Ability to teach courses in data analytics, information systems, and data science.  
  • Ability to work effectively with administration, faculty, staff, and students. 

Desired:

  • Successful college teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching both on-campus and online.
  • Experience with industries seeking data-proficient graduates. 

Prior to hiring, the final candidate(s) must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation, including information obtained from social media and other internet sources.
