Applying for Graduate and Doctoral Programs at the University of West Alabama is simple.

Applying is quick and easy. Create your application account or sign-in using your previously created account information. Once you have verified your account, begin your application. If you do not complete your application immediately, you will be able to locate your application when you are ready to complete it. Finally, submit your application and pay the $30 non-refundable application fee.

The application portal allows you to monitor the status of your application, submit required supplemental items, and view your decision letter. Many supplemental items can be completed from the portal or uploaded directly to the portal to enhance turnaround time. These items may include statement of purpose, resume, writing samples, teaching certificates, recommenders’ contact information, background check, etc.

Step 1: Complete the online Graduate or Doctoral application.

Step 2: Prepare and collect your application materials.

Login to the Application Portal to review all supplemental items required for your prospective program. Many of these documents can be downloaded and uploaded directly to the Application Portal.

Step 3: Request Official transcripts from your previous institutions through the registrar’s office.

UWA only accepts official transcripts. Official transcripts may be delivered electronically via eSCRIP, Parchment, or National Clearinghouse to transcripts.westalabama@risepoint.com, otherwise, select the University of West Alabama or mailed to,

Step 4: Request official test scores from the appropriate testing agency (if applicable).

Step 6: Register for classes.

Visit the UWA Registrar’s Office to find registration dates on the Academic Calendars as well as Registration Tools to help you with the registration process within the Self-Service Portal. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your enrollment counselor or advisor for help with this process.
