Tap into Your Communications and Creative Arts Passions

The Department of Communications and Creative Arts (CCA) within the College of Liberal Arts offers major programs in the Integrated Marketing Communications field. In addition to communications, CCA houses freshman seminar and all public and professional speaking courses.

The IMC graduate program [link] allows those who have completed bachelor’s programs in any discipline to master critical skills in multimedia strategies, marketing, advertising, social media marketing, broadcast production, graphic design, photography, and commercial video production that enhance both entrepreneurial and advanced employment opportunities.

Integrated Marketing Communications BA/BS (IMC)

Gain hands-on multimedia experience in graphic design, photography, web design, social media, news writing, video production, and social science while also mastering marketing theory and media law. Prepare for work in public relations, commercial video production, interior design, website design, sales, advertising, radio, photography, marketing, journalism and a host of other coveted fields.

  • Traditional Track: Select from upper-level communications, marketing, and behavioral science courses to prepare you for communications research. This track caters to students interested in careers in public relations, marketing, video production or other communication fields. IMC students may opt to specialize in one of three diploma-bearing tracks designed to jumpstart careers in graphic design, multidimensional interior design and sports communications.
  • Graphic Design Track: Students complete advanced courses in graphic design, photography and media buying. The graphic design track prepares students for careers in the advertising and creative industries.
  • Sports Communications Track: Students complete advanced courses in sports writing, sports magazine, and sports issues in the media. Additionally, students complete a sports internship to prepare for careers in sports writing or broadcasting or sports management.
  • Multidimensional Interior Design Track: Students complete advanced courses in elements and principles of interior design and render 2D and 3D computer-aided designs to create engaging marketing presentations for our agency clients.

IMC also offers several student media opportunities including Studio 96, a full-service audio and video production studio, ZONE, our award-winning annual sports magazine, and an in-house, full-service advertising agency.
