It is not enough to attempt to understand the thoughts, behaviors and interactions of others and ourselves; we are bound to apply that information to better society. Research is the necessary link between the philosophical roots of Psychology and Sociology and the applied contributions of the fields that allow us to make a difference.
Whether you seek to learn more about mental illness, the way humans think, the relationship of human beings and society or how to help your fellow human beings, UWA’s Department of Psychology and Sociology offers a wide range of learning opportunities. Each field within the department provides unique insight into how and why humans do the things they do.
After graduating from UWA, many of our students move on to graduate school in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or a closely related field.
