Examines the sociological, cultural, philosophical and historical foundations of education.
Pursue a teaching career or change your teaching area with the alternative teaching certification in physical education. This program provides you with master’s-level teaching certification in Alabama and a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) or Master of Education (MEd) degree. You must have at least a bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2.75 GPA from a regionally accredited institution, or a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum 3.00 GPA.
The continuum of field experiences required in UWA’s programs includes experiences in P-12 settings and culminates in an internship during the final semester. Students must also complete at least four seminars, as well as any necessary training sessions.
